    Hi, that's a very good question.

    IBM Z is API enabled to work with mobile / web applications. The API access tooling you'll see most often referenced is IBM z/OS Connect EE, which allows you to interact with CICS https://www.ibm.com/products/zos-connect-enterprise-edition
