How do I get support for AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications?

  • 1.  How do I get support for AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications?

    Posted Fri November 13, 2020 11:28 PM

    ANSWER:

Open Source RPM packages from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications are not supported through IBM support; however, an "AIX Open Source Software Forum" is available on the IBM Community. This forum team will provide best effort support for installing or configuring a Toolbox package, and will address requests for new packages to be added to the collection.

The Open Source forum team is generally very responsive and should be able to assist with your issue, or provide further guidance if other support is required.

Here are some additional references which may be helpful as you add Open Source products to your AIX environment:

    A) Dependent module errors (missing modules installed by rpm.rte libintl.a, libpopt.a, libnss3.so, libz.a, etc) with rpm.rte < 4.13.0.4

    B) Missing libraries installed by AIX OpenSSL file sets (openssl, crypto)

Your issue may be resolved by running updtvpkg.
