Hello Maximo community! π
Managing the maintenance of tooling installations for a major rail company is a complex task that requires efficient planning and visualization in IBM Maximo Graphical Scheduling. To enhance the scheduling experience, two new ideas have been submitted to the IBM Ideas Portal.
Your feedback and votes can help turn them into reality! π
π Idea 1: Enhance Graphical Scheduling with a Visual Lock Indicator
π Vote & Comment Here: https://lnkd.in/eDx_bWji
π‘ Current Challenge:
Identifying whether a Work Order is locked or unlocked is inefficient-you need to manually check button states for each task, which is impractical when handling multiple Work Orders.
β
Proposed Improvement:
β Add a visual identifier in the Graphical View to instantly show the lock/unlock status.
β Two possible solutions:
πΉ Frame the horizontal bar of locked Work Orders.
πΉ Change the color (lighten/darken) to indicate locked/unlocked status.
β‘ Impact for Rail Maintenance Teams:
A quick visual cue will make it easier for planners and schedulers to identify locked Work Orders at a glance, improving daily scheduling efficiency.
π Idea 2: Allow Custom Colors for Work Orders in Graphical Scheduling
π Vote & Comment Here: https://lnkd.in/esk3K8_J
π‘ Current Challenge:
By default, Work Orders in Graphical Scheduling are colored based on status or whether the end date has been exceeded. However, for rail maintenance operations, Work Type is often a more relevant categorization.
β
Proposed Improvement:
β Allow users to choose the color coding criteria (Status or Work Type).
β Allow users to customize colors to match internal standards.
β‘ Impact for Rail Maintenance Teams:
Being able to color-code Work Orders by Work Type improves visibility, enhances planning efficiency, and allows teams to quickly differentiate tasks for better prioritization.
