  • 1.  GIM install config file

    Posted 12/30/19 09:32 AM
    Hi all,

I searching in the web to obtain an aswer for this question, but without results.

When I installed GIM on Windows I can change the file conf and I edit it and restart GIM services and the server try to connecto to another collector. This works fine and I did a couple time.
But how I can do this in Unix/Linux installation?
Where the system store the configuration of the collector to connect it?
Now I have a server that GIM trying to connect to collector that it cannot listening in the 8446 port. But I have another that the server can listening. This happens because there are a lot of rules in the network where some segments aren't allowed.

    Regards,
    Carlos

    Carlos,

You will need to reference your installation process and find the --installdir used for your environment. Using that, the conf file should be here:
    /--installdir/modules/GIM/current/conf

Thank you Chase that is the answer that I need. But how do you restart the GIM to read the new config file?

The only way I know to restart the GIM from the server command line is to stop the GIM/Supervisor services and start them again. There is a quick reference for the service names here.
