  • 1.  Getting error in Filter Tab for Dashboard

    Hi,

    I am getting this below error in the Cognos Dashboard for Filter Tab for selecting a particular option in filter:
    "Data source adapter error: com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlDataException: Invalid character found in a character string argument of the function "DECFLOAT".. SQLCODE=-420, SQLSTATE=22018, DRIVER=3.69.49"

    Can anyone please suggest any solutions.

    Hi Shreesha,

    The JCC driver can be configured to convert invalid characters to the Unicode Replacement Character.

    To configure the JCC driver:
    1) Go into Cognos Administration, select the "Configuration" tab and "Dispatchers and Services".
    2) Click the "Set Properties/Configuration" button in the upper left of the configuration window, then go to the "Settings" tab.
    3) Find the property "Additional JVM arguments for the query service (Requires QueryService restart)" (it might be useful to sort by name), and enter the following in the value box:

     -Ddb2.jcc.charsetDecoderEncoder=3 

    Restart the IBM Cognos services after making this change.
