fw code 9.1.0.3

    Since yesterday, code version 9.1.0.3 has been pushed to systems via the cloud update channel, but it is not yet available for download on Fix Central. Additionally, the 9.1.0 release notes have not been updated and still reference IBM Storage Virtualize Family Release Note 9.1.0.2. Is there any information available about this release yet?

    Thanks for letting us know about new release. I cannot see it either. Also, my system cannot find any updates online. They might release it one area at a time. Need to wait.

    The web file that populates the GUI is incorrect. 9.1.0.3 is not yet available. It will be soon.

    9.1.0.3 is in the final stages of testing, and its official release is expected soon. At the moment, the latest officially available version remains 9.1.0.2.

    Hi to all,

    I don't understand why version 9.1.0.3 is available for the FS5300 when there is a issue (SVAPAR‑191281) that prevents the upgrade.
    It's a strange situation - it's not typical of IBM to release a version that cannot actually be installed. It would have been better to keep this release unavailable until the problem was resolved.

    Nice, such APAR does not exist or is not public, I cannot find it: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-storage-virtualize-apars-0

    If it helps, CD path is working. I was able to update my FS5300 to 9.1.1.1. If that is usable for your case, you could try that.

    Hi Sami,

    The client has no interest in migrating to a non‑LTS version. Their goal is simply to keep the firmware up to date. However, I advised them to wait a little longer before performing new updates, to avoid a recurrence of issues such as the one experienced with version 9.1.0.0, which resulted in a loss of DNS service.

    Additionally, I verified that the FS7300 and FS9500 models show no errors, and it is possible to update them to version 9.1.0.3 without any restrictions.

    Based on this analysis, the issue appears to be limited to the FS5300 model.

    Replying to my own message... Now we can see this APAR-191281. It looks that also CD version is affected so upgradetest should have restricted my upgrade to 9.1.1.1.

    I just received personal alert from IBM that my system can crash any time. Waiting for iFix.

    I thought you were wrong. The AI part of FlashSystem.ai is a separate, container-based solution that does not run on FlashSystem controllers. So it will only be another FW level for the FlashSystem.
