We are currently trying to upgrade the Spectrum Virtualize software on a newly built IBM FlashSystem FS7300.

Current Spectrum Virtualize version: [Current Version]
Target Spectrum Virtualize version: [Target Version]

However, when we navigate to Settings → System → Update System in the FS7300 GUI, the Update System page is completely blank, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Issue details:

• Platform: IBM FlashSystem FS7300
• Environment: New Build
• Current version: 8.7.0.6
• Target version: 9.1.0.7
• Function: Spectrum Virtualize software/patch upgrade
• Issue: Update System page is blank
• Access method: FS7300 GUI
• Screenshot: Attached

Could you please advise on the possible cause and recommended troubleshooting steps?

Specifically, could you please confirm:

1. What could cause the Update System page to appear blank on a new FS7300 build?
2. Are there any initial configuration or prerequisite steps required before the Update System function becomes available?
3. Is there a CLI command we can use to verify the software update/upgrade component status?
4. We would appreciate your guidance on resolving this issue so that we can proceed with the Spectrum Virtualize patch upgrade.

from windows or linux using the command line

scp Storage-Virtualize-UpgradeTestUtility superuser@fs7300_host:/home/admin/upgrade
scp StorageVirtualize_7_9.1.0.7 superuser@fs7300_host:/home/admin/upgrade

Try to upgrade again using the GUI

otherwise you can try using cli to upgrade storage virtualize

IBM_FlashSystem:XXXXXX:superuser>svctask applysoftware -file Storage-Virtualize-UpgradeTestUtility
IBM_FlashSystem:XXXXXX:superuser>svcupgradetest -v 9.1.0.7

If everthing is ok then the next steps are:
IBM_FlashSystem:XXXXXX:superuser>svctask applysoftware -file StorageVirtualize_7_9.1.0.7

for checking the upgrade 
IBM_FlashSystem:XXXXXX:superuser>lsupdate

It should work fine, but just in case, I recommend that you open a case with IBM Support.

Initially, we were facing an issue where the Settings → System → Update System page was displaying blank. After restarting the Tomcat service, the Update System page is now accessible.

However, when we ran the Software Upgrade Test Utility (svcupgradetest), it reported the following error:

The utility reported 1 error and 0 warnings, and states that this issue will prevent the system from being updated to 9.1.0.7 until it is resolved. The detailed test result is attached for reference.

Could you please advise on the following:

1. What is the impact of SVAPAR-217342 on the upgrade from 8.7.0.6 to 9.1.0.7?
2. What is the recommended target Spectrum Virtualize version for our FS7300 at this time?
3. Is there an alternative supported upgrade path from 8.7.0.6?
4. Which future Spectrum Virtualize release is expected to remove this restriction?
5. Are there any additional prerequisites or checks we should perform before proceeding with the upgrade?

As this is a new build, we would like to confirm the correct and fully supported upgrade path before proceeding.

it happened to me few months ago, turns out I was using an outdated browser. I was using Remote Desktop to access an old Windows without connection to internet.
