That is a common misconception. Flashcopy is still available as of the latest 9.1.2, although it is considered a legacy technology. It is the Global Mirror, Metro Mirror legacy copy services technologies that are no longer supported after 8.7.0
The FSFC toolkit supports both legacy flashcopy and volume group snapshots, although the recommendation would be to migrate to volume group snapshots, especially if you will be using Policy Based Replication (PBR).
In the toolkit, most of the configuration is the same, except in WRKCSE you will use storage type VGFC rather than SVC and instead of specifying the consistency group ids, you will specify the volume group ids. The WRKCSEDTA configuration remains the same.
Don't forget the FSFC toolkit is a supported product (as long as maintenance is paid), so you can also open a ticket with IBM.

Subject: FlashSystem version 9 and FSFC Tooltik support
Hello everyone.
I'm facing a dilemma. A client is purchasing a FlashSystem 9600, which comes with version 9. The FSFC toolkit is version 5.2.
With version 9 of the storage, as far as I understand, the FlashCopy functionality is no longer included and has been replaced by Snapshot functionality. Would I need to make any modifications to the FSFC Toolkit, considering that the tool is only used for backups?
What needs to be modified?
I've read the documentation about the new features, but I can't find anywhere the procedure for using Snapshot.
Thank you all very much.
