​I am not new to cognos, but just the basics. Hoping to make is more useful though and efficient. Most of our data reports are loaded as excel. We have several dozen different type of reports with last, first name, membership type, date in the excel fields. Is there a way to filter which reports have certain fields. I want to only pull reports with an email field and exclude reports without an email field. currently, I have to download a report first to see what fields are included. Hope that makes sense. Thank you.

Have you tried using the Search function in the top left corner of Cognos Analytics? there's a filter option to specify you're only interested in reports. You could then enter as many uniquely identifying terms to be found in the report spec/metadata to get back a short list of reports of interest
