I use the Fake GPS Android app to mock up GPS positions while testing/presenting the Anywhere Work Technician map.

I am able to successfully use Fake GPS in these scenarios:
    1. Galaxy A20:                    Google Maps
    2. Galaxy A20:                    Anywhere Work Technician
    3. Galaxy Tab Active2:     Google Maps

However, I'm having trouble with this scenario:
    4. Galaxy Tab Active2:     Anywhere Work Technician

While the Fake GPS app is clearly working to some degree (fake GPS position successfully shows up in Google Maps), when I switch over to the Work Technician app, the fake GPS position does not appear. I don't have this problem with the Galaxy A20.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the Fake GPS app doesn't work properly in Work Technician (on Galaxy Tab Active2 devices)?

    Thank you.

I wasn't able to get the Fake GPS app working on my Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet with Anywhere. I contacted the developer about the issue but didn't hear back.

However, I did end up getting a couple of other/alternative fake GPS apps working on the tablet with Anywhere:

    • Fake GPS GO Location Spoofer Free
      • Has annoying popup ads
    • Fake GPS Joystick & Routes GO (aka Fake GPS Route) – Paid
      • Same as the first app, but without ads.
      • Has the ability to create a route where the fake GPS moves along a polyline/route that I specify. I found this functionality to be pretty clunky though; I'm not sure how to use it properly. I got one of my routes working, but only by dumb luck.

For what it's worth, here are some instructions for enabling any fake GPS app in Android:

     1.   Install a fake GPS app

    2.    Android settings --> About Tablet --> Software Information

    3.    Tap Build Number seven times to enable developer mode

    4.    Enter the Android device password (not to be confused with your Google Account/Google Play password)

    5.    Go back to the Android settings

    6.    A new Developer Options section will appear at the bottom of the list in the Android settings. Open it.

    7.    In the Debugging group/section, open Select mock location app

    8.    Choose the app from the list that you want to use to fake-out your device's GPS position

    9.    Open the fake GPS app

    10. Tap the play button in the app (if that's applicable to the fake GPS app your using)

    11. The GPS position in Anywhere will be set to the fake position that was specified in the fake GPS app

    In summary:

Those alternative Fake GPS GO apps seem to be working well enough (although they're a bit clunky to use). Being able to fake-out my GPS location will be handy for hosting meetings/demos where I want to pretend to be working outside while using Anywhere.
