  • 1.  Error on Over-the-Top Upgrade

    Good Afternoon,

    I hope that you and yours are all doing well. I am getting an error in IBM Cognos Configuration trying to start the service:

    [ERROR] Class not found exception. Reason: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.jnetdirect.jsql.JSQLDriver

    Database: MS SQL Server 17

    Driver: SQL JDBC 8.4

    We are discovering the error as we attempt to start Cognos - Within Cognos Configuration on right-clicking and testing Authentication. However, on right-clicking the Data Access module of Cognos Configuration, there is no error.

    Not sure what Version you are upgrading from, but the location where you copied database drivers to changed.  Ensure you have your driver copied to the drivers folder at the root of your cognos install, previously it was copied to webapps/p2pd/WEB-INF/lib/
