I added an attachments control in a table containing records of a custom child object of my app's MAINRECORD.

All the child object's data in the table row appears fine, however when I try to add an attachment all the fields in the dialog box are readonly and empty (as if no doclinks object is found).

I did create a DOCLINKS relationship in my custom child object (ownertable = 'CONVENTION' and ownerid = :CONVENTIONID).

I have another attachments control on the main tab of the app which works fine.

What can I do to resolve the situation ?

I assume you have save access to the application. if the child object is Read-Only by any chance then you wont be able to add an attachment. For instance, if you have an attachment icon on POLINE and if the PO status is APPR, the attachment is read-only for existing PO Lines.
