How are the two HMCs connected to the servers? I believe the standard way to connect is to have 2 different HMC networks, and connect each of the 2 HMC ports on the servers to different networks. Then you can configure up each HMC to use DHCP on it's own private network.

If you want to connect both HMCs to the same network, then you might need to configure only one of them for DHCP, and then manually configure in the servers to the non-DHCP HMC.

You might check to make sure you are really talking on two different networks at the service processor. To do this, go to Service Applications->Service Focal Point->Service Utilities. Highlight the server you want to access. Click the top left button, Selected, and pull down to Launch ASM. When ASM's browser opens, log in as admin and look at Network Services and Network Configuration to make sure both interfaces are on two separate IP networks. If they are different, what subnets are you using?

You might want to try a few things: (1) for the ones that say "no connection" right-click to "reset or remove connection". First try the reset option. If that doesn't work, remove the connection, disconnect the HMC cable from that server for about 10 minutes (gives the FSP a chance to reset), then reconnect the cable to let the HMC see the server and assign it a new IP address. For the ones that say "connecting" right-click to update the managed systems password. If it wasn't hung up because of an incorrect password, the you might want to try the above procedure. I actually did the cable disconnect procedure and it worked.

If you are talking about the ASM password, you might be locked out because of too many attempts to login. You would have to call IBM to have the password reset.

The initial user/password is admin/admin - have you tried that? When you first hooked up your server to the HMC you would have been prompted for passwords for admin, general and for the HMC hardware connection. Do you have notes from the time the server(s) were attached to the HMC???

I note that there is a IBM celogin - account can I use that to reset all the passwords.
