    Hello community!
    When a version of an IBM product reaches its end-of-life date, the relevant certifications automatically expire. So the "IBM Maximo Manage v8.x Administrator" (Exam C1000-141) and "IBM Maximo Manage v8.0 Implementation" (Exam C1000-132) certifications are expected to expire in April 2026. 
    Are the current "IBM Maximo Manage v9.0 Functional Deployment - Professional" (Exam C1000-183) and IBM Maximo Manage v9 Work Management Specialty (Exam S2000-026) to be considered their exact replacements, or will new certifications be released in the coming months?

    Ciao Diego, insegno Maximo dal 2007 (dalla v4) ! Sono 21 anni di conoscenza del prodotto ed ho scritto numerose certificazioni IBM come SME, tutt'oggi faccio decine di corsi Maximo in mezzo mondo ad ogni livello di certificazione.

    Da ex autore di certificazioni posso dirti che una buona parte della vecchia va poi a finire nella nuova. Troverai molte similitudini ma certo non una duplicazione.

    grazie per la gentile risposta. 
    Il mio punto Γ¨ di capire se vale la pena considerare i test attuali della v8 senza ritrovarsi giΓ  a maggio a dover nuovamente dedicare qualche giorno di studio e ripagare il costo del test.
    Probabilmente la scelta piΓΉ sicura Γ¨ puntare a quelli ora disponbili per la v9.

    Hi Diego,

    "IBM Maximo Manage v9.0 Functional Deployment - Professional" (Exam C1000-183) is a replacement for IBM Maximo Manage v8.0 Implementation" (Exam C1000-132).

    However, IBM Maximo Manage v9 Work Management Specialty (Exam S2000-026) is a certification focused on the work management part area of Maximo. This certification is mainly designed for Maximo customers, people in the field using Maximo. Obviously, Maximo consultants can also take this exam, but it is not a replacement for "IBM Maximo Manage v8.x Administrator" (Exam C1000-141) or "IBM Maximo Manage v8.0 Implementation" (Exam C1000-132).

    "IBM Maximo Manage v8.x Administrator" (Exam C1000-141) is for administrators, technical people, focused a lot on installing Maximo, Openshift, etc. This one will be replaced by a new dedicated certification i imagine, one focused on MAS 9.1.

    Hi Diego,

    The Professional Certification IBM Maximo Manage v9.0 Functional Deployment - Professional" (Exam C1000-183) is the one to go for, however it has a wider range of questions than the "IBM Maximo Manage v8.0 Implementation" (Exam C1000-132) certification, which if you are still very much in Maximo learning mode you will find is probably easier to pass than the one for MAS 9.0. There is no equivalent to IBM Maximo Manage v8.x Administrator" (Exam C1000-141), so if you want to get it on your CV, then go for it before it is taken down.

    As I understand IBM are looking at Specialty exams currently, these are more geared towards client experts rather than business partner level certifications.

    My guess would be that the next Professional exam will be written in the summer of 2026 after MAS 9.2 which will take in the enhancements to both 9.1 and 9.2.

    Hi Andrew,
    Thank you for the feedback. 
    I took Exam C1000-141 last year, so now I need to decide on the next one. As you and Liliana suggested, it seems reasonable to try Exam C1000-183.
    I'll review the study guide, hoping to be somewhat familiar with each subject area 🀞
