    Hi Team ,

    1) Did anyone try using DMC with Pacemaker . In the DMC documentation i see notes to configure DB2 with TSA only . Since TSA is going to end soon for RHEL , thought to go with Pacemaker . If anyone has already implemented DMC with Pacemaker , how is the performance , did anyone see any split brain scenarios .

    2) I am planning to just setup new standby server with HADR setup for Repository DB and installed DMC on the standby server. For manual failover scenarios , how to setup / configure the standby DMC / repodb server ? Any inputs will be helpful

    Hi Saravanan,
    1) I want to clarify that if you refer to this HA for DMC document, it is to set up for DMC high availability/fail-over, and not for Db2 nor the repository database used by DMC. These are 2 independent tasks.  I was part of the team that did the TSA set up for DMC and documentation.  We will be looking into how to set up HA for DMC using Pacemaker soon.

    2) If you want to set up HADR or high availability for the DMC repository DB which is hosted in Db2 server, there is a document for setting up HA with Db2 which includes either using TSA or Pacemaker.  Again, this is independent Db2 HA set up and separated from DMC set up.

Hi Thuan, could you please advise if TSA setup for DMC needs a separate paid license for TSA , or is TSA free of charge ?

Is there a documentation for DMC HA with Pacemaker please ?

Also, interested in knowing how DMC handles HADR for repository DB, how does it automatically reroute to standby after a db failover ? Couldn't see any HADR specific notes for repository db in DMC documentation.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hello Kalyan,

Here are some documentation that I have found for DMC and Pacemaker:

    https://community.ibm.com/community/user/blogs/thuan-bui/2022/06/08/ha-for-dmc-with-pacemaker

    https://community.ibm.com/community/user/blogs/narayanan-v-eswar/2023/11/27/setting-up-high-availability-for-ibm-data-manageme

Related to your license question, I recommend you to contact your IBM Sales Representative in this case.

    I hope that helps!
