  • 1.  DMC 3.1.4 does not show OPTGUIDELINES

    Posted 03/03/21 09:13 AM
    Hi,

DMC does not show OPTGUIDLINES in In-flight executions.
When OPTGUIDLINES are issued within SQL it should be displayed in the statement text (In-flight executions, package cache, etc.)

    Regards,
    Gerhard

    Hi Gerhard,

I did a test with your use case with OPTGUIDELINES.  And I cannot find the OPTGUIDELINES syntax by default.

But, if you uncheck the "Normalize captured SQL statements" option in Monitor Profile > Monitor Settings section.  You should be able to see the OPTGUIDELINES syntax in Statements page.  Hope this helps.

    Hi Jason,

yes when I uncheck "Normalize captured SQL statements" the OptGuidlines are shown but this generates much more data within the repository database.
Is it possible to change the DMC behaviour in one of these ways?
    • Normalize=checked and OptGuides are contained -> normalize and also show the OptGuides
    • add another check box "Capture OptGuidelines"
It would be great when OptGuidelines are captured and shown though SQL are normalized.

    Best regards,
    Gerhard

    Hi Gerhard,

Thanks for confirming the action, and your suggestions.

I would like to understand your usage.  Do you want to know if a query uses OPTGUILDLINES or you are interested to see the OPTGUIDELINES actual syntax?

    Hi Jason,

I would like to know if a query uses OPTGUIDELINES and would like to see the complete OPTGUIDELINES also for normalized SQL statements.

    Regards,
    Gerhard
