    "lsrsrc IBM.MCP" DOES return the name of the HMC the LPAR is on. "lsrsrc IBM.ManagementServer" returns "/usr/sbin/rsct/bin/lsrsrc-api: 2612-010 Resource class IBM.ManagementServer is not defined" but I believe that is expected for AIX 7.1.

    HMC level - 7.7.7.0.3.  "lspartition -dlpar" returns "DCaps:<0x0>" for the LPAR.

    On the LPAR I have tried "/usr/sbin/rsct/bin/rmcctrl -z" then -A then -p.

    I've tried recfgct.

    I've tried reintalling rsct.basic.rte from lppsource and reupdating to 3.1.5.1.

    I've rebooted the LPAR.

    I can SSH from the HMC to the LPAR.

    IBM.DRM service is active. So are ctrmc and IBM.ServiceRM.

    But still "A RMC network connection to the partition is not present" and "DCaps:<0x0>".

    What else is there?

    it can be RMC tcpip packet size issue. Check if jumbobframes are not configured on LPAR side (RMC interface)
