Hi,
Regarding installation on Big Sur, the answer from the IBM support:
Please let me know how you stand with this issue.
In my previous post, I mentioned the problem is caused by Eclipse being unable to display the GUI.
Since the problem is not one that can be found in the Anywhere code, the team that is responsible for the Installation Manager is handling this.
There is a way to track their progress, using the following link:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6409896
We, also, have workaround: use the command line install, as described in:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSDV2W_1.8.5/com.ibm.cic.commandline.doc/topics/c_imcl_container.html
Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with, since the solution, for now, is to use Installation Manager in command line mode.

Hi Bradley,
I'm trying to install Maximo Anywhere apps and container natively on my Macbook, then build binaries i.e. APK and IPA files for development.
We've already installed Maximo Anywhere components and apps, where Maximo instance resides in our Windows OS environment.

I am confused. What EXACTLY are you trying to do here? Are you installing Maximo on you MacBook in a native environment? You state in your first post on this thread: "but ran into errors when I attempt to install Maximo Anywhere Components via IM."
The Maximo Anywhere components are to be installed into your existing Maximo instance. Where does that reside? The Maximo Anywhere Componenets are the various Maximo artifacts necessary for Maximo Anywhere to work. Such things as the Anywhere administration application, the various objects inserted into the database and the artifacts in these objects (e.g ANYWHEREAPP, ANYWHEREMSGTEMPLATEATTRIBUTE, ANYWHEREPROPERTY, ANYWHEREPROPVALUE, ANYWHEREQUERY, etc.) as well as OSLC artifacts that enable the application(s) to communicate with Maximo. These are the things that are installed. So again what are you trying to do exactly on you MacBook?

Hi Biplap,
My MacBook has macOS Catalina v10.15.7. Which version on macOS did you install Maximo Anywhere on your end?
I've looked at the link, but I'm not sure if the suggested steps for silent install are Windows specific or macOS based?
Can you provide me with a guide (for macOS) on how to install IM, Components & Maximo Anywhere via silent install.
Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Installation Manager does not work on Mac OS Big Sur.
I had to use silent install of Installation manager( on suggestion from IBM PMR team) and then use the same method to install Maximo Anywhere and other components.
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/maximo-anywhere/7.6.4?topic=anywhere-silent-mode-installing-maximo
It works well with silent installation. Of course , the huddles and pain of installing Maximo anywhere has just started for you.

Hi Steve,
I downloaded and extracted Max_Anywher_v764.zip on my macBook Pro, and saved the Max Anywhere installer under my Applications. I followed guide provided but ran into errors when I attempt to install Maximo Anywhere Components via IM. Here are the scenarions:
1) Applications -> Max_Anywhere_v764 -> Install -> IM -> installer.mac.x86_64 -> Install -> The application "Install" cant be opened
2) Applications -> Max_Anywhere_v764 -> Install -> IM -> installer.mac.x86_64 -> Install <exec> -> "Install" cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer - macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware
3) Applications -> Max_Anywhere_v764 -> Install -> IM -> installer.mac.x86_64 -> Userinst -> "Userinst" cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified - macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware
4) Applications -> Max_Anywhere_v764 -> Install -> IM -> installer.mac.x86_64 -> userinst <exec> -> "userinst" cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer - macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware
I attempted to allow app download through these steps but it didn't work. Here are the steps: System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Allow apps downloaded from: App Store and identified developers <Open Anyway>
Kindly assist.
Alex

Hi all,
I have been following the steps to install an Anywhere development environment on my MacBook but i keep getting an error when trying to install Anywhere using the userinst command from both the Anywhere IM installer and when trying to install the IBM Installation Manager manually as was also noted in one of the documents.
The error is "The usersinst executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library"
Has anyone else encountered this issue and any ideas how to resolve
Regards
Steve
