  • 1.  Data server connections - connect to Teradata

    We want our Self service users to access Teradata DWH through Cognos through Data server connections. The Signon Authentication method works. However, the users want to share their outputs through dashboards with other users. We want to set the Authentication method to "Prompt for the user ID and password", so the Teradata security login would be required for each user calling the database. But this option does not work. The users is not prompted and this error appears: "Unable to logon to the data source."

    Has anyone using the Prompt..  option successfully?

    We are running R11.1.3 version.

    Josef,

    Try unchecking the 'Password' checkbox in 'Signon' section of 'Edit Connection String' properties section. Then user will be prompted for login info. But this will happen in all scenarios when you use this connection.

    unchecking does not make any difference. Still no prompting appears.
