  • 1.  Data Modules - Set Security on field in a table. What version?

    I need to apply security on a field (example Application Type) in a Cognos Data Module.  I did find the following, but is this feature only available in 11.1 and later releases?  I am using 11.0.11.

    1. From Team content or My content, open a data module.
    2. The data module source must be a data server, or another source that includes data server tables.
    3. Click the Sources Icon representing the sources view. pane to expand it.
    4. Expand the data server schema to view its tables.
    5. From a table context menu, select Set data security, and click Add security definition.

    Security Filters have been added in 11.1 but still only row level. Additional levels of granularity are still being worked on

    I'm on Cognos 12.0.4 and the Set data security option is missing from the table context menu.

    Very frustrating as this is one of a number of published features that are missing...

    It is possible that your CA server has capabilities set up which prevent you accessing that option.
     
    "Users who perform this task must belong to a role that has the Set data security feature that is enabled in the administration interface. Otherwise, the table context menus in the data module won't show the Set data security option that is needed to perform this task."
