In 11.1 R5, I have a very simple dashboard with a drill-through configured.  In the dashboard, I have a pie chart the counts tickets by severity.

I have noticed that if I highlight a pie slice, say Severity 2, and execute the drill-through, I get no data even though the visualization shows tickets for Severity 2.  If I add a Severity filter to that tab and pick Severity 2 and then execute a drill through on the entire visualization, not the slice,  I get the correct data.  This tells me the drill-through mapping is correct.

A colleague noticed that if I remove the ticket ID, the unique identifier, from the drill-through mapping, the drill-through report gives correct results no matter what method is used.   

It almost looks like the dashboard is passing ticket ID count  to the drill-through which will never match,  therefore I never get data when clicking on a pie slice and running the drill-through report.

Has anyone encountered this type of issue?

Yes, I have encountered this before. In dashboard to dashboard drill through, using the same data source, all filters / values are passed from the source dashboard to the target. If you have explicitly created a count calculation in the source dashboard, either create the same calculation in the target dashboard or instead of using a calculated field, use the aggregate in the visual to count your items.
