  • 1.  Customizing rich text editor on BAW/BPM

    Hi

We have developed a BPM coach to allow business users to send emails out of BPM. The coach has standard fields such as TO, CC, Subject, Body associated with a worklist.

The body field is using the rich text editor CV and is used to display any previously received email inline (just like a standard email client) plus allows the business user to type new email content. We have the following cosmetic improvements that we want to make however are not able to do it and the IBM documentation on customizing the CV.

    • We want to increase the font size by default of the emails going out
    • The CV seems to add a new line for every line (this happens when we try and show the inbound email html in the CV) . How to prevent that from happening
    • The default border color of the table created in the editor is white. We need that to be defaulted to something more visible.
We have been trying multiple combinations based on the approach defined here but none of them worked. Hence looking for some help from the community.

P.S. We have tried this on both BAW 20 and BPM 8.6. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS8JB4_20.x/com.ibm.wbpm.wle.editor.doc/topics/c_html_attributes.html

    HI Vaibhav,

The Text Editor CV helps you compile your email in HTML.

I believe that you're trying to manipulate the CV and how it's behaving directly, which is not possible.

What you can do for things like changing font sizes, removing new lines, changing table border colors, etc. etc., you can certainly do it outside of the CV context because after all what you have is HTML. You can do whatever you want with your HTML.

Look at this for a simple demo of this idea

Now, as in your case, you're having the users preparing emails and then send. What you want is to configure the email display to the recipients. So just wrap the output HTML from Text Editor around a div with specific class and apply your own CSS to it.

So see if this works for you:

    - Continue to author your emails with Text Editor CV, once you're happy with it, click Submit
    - Wrap the output HTML around your own div in a syntax like this:  `<div class="my-email">${emailHTML}</div>`
    - Include in the content of your email the embedded stylesheet: <style>.my-email p { font-size: 32px; }</style>

    Hope this helps!

    Regards
