Customer main goal of using the Apptio is to have better insight on the financial data and to compare the spent on yearly, quarterly and YTD basis across all the business units so the executives can take the business decision. Sometimes it is not possible with the OOTB report because customer wants something other or more insight. We have the flexibility to create the custom reports based on the requirement of the customers.

Earlier the customer followed the general process. They refer the multiple excel sheets or reports to track the headcount details for the various business units. They had to put lot of manual effort if the data changes which was quite irritating. The Apptio features provide us the flexibility to create the custom objects where we can feed the data for the different business units and business type on the weekly basis and can create the allocation strategy and use the same custom object in our customized report. Customers are now getting the maximum result by putting the minimum efforts. The case study explains how we have started, what we followed and how it helped customers.

Great Idea, We are looking at trying to solve this as well.   It would be interesting to see the common data elements between the source tables that you use.  Thanks!
