  • 1.  Creating a work order from a service request does not include asset

    If I have a service request, and attach one asset to the service request, then create a work order through the UI, the work order creates but the asset is not moved over to the work order. Trying to figure out what might be causing that and can't figure it out. 

    Any ideas or thoughts on this?

    Hi Christopher,

    Is this behave for all Work Orders created from Service Request or only for specific ones?

    As a verification could you please check if TICKET2WO crossover domain contains ASSETNUM crossover filed definition.

    To check it please navigate to System Configuration -> Platform Configuration -> Domains and find TICKET2WO definition.

    Yes it is all service requests that create work orders with assets on them. 

    I checked TIKET2WO and yes it does have the assetnum included.

    Hello,
    please verify that there is no condition applied to the assetnum attribute in the Restrictions area. You can also simply check in the Work Order application whether you are retrieving the correct attribute value, especially if the application has been customized.

    What version of Maximo are you using and have you checked there are no automation scripts or other configurations that would clear the Asset number in your instance.

    I have never seen this issue before in any out of the box Maximo instance

    I'm on MAS 9.03. I am looking into automation scripts to see if something is removing it. Are there any particular logging settings I should make sure are on to see what is happening with this?

    I saw this at my last organization. It has to do with the fact that the Service Request is NOT organization and site specific but your work order is. We added the Org and Site to our SR form and then passed those values over with the cross domain when the work order was created. It worked fine after that.
