My team want to create a project step by step, I remember someday I saw something like a roadmap that have all the steps to create a project from the beginning. Do you know something like that?

Now we have our project but It has a lot of complexity, we know how It works and how to maintain but It's really difficult to make any change.

Hello @Carlos Rebaza.
We built our first model in 2015, back in the days of R11.
In 2018, we migrated to R12​ and rebuilt it from scratch.
As a general rule:

• Document your model on paper and decide what you'll be doing differently
• Decide whether you're keeping all your data sources and/or add any new ones you might have found.
• Start from the bottom (Cost Source) and install the components you'll need
• Work your way up, reviewing your existing allocation lines, changing them as appropriate
• Check in changes often, to have fallback points if something goes wrong.

I would refer to the upgrade procedure as documented in the help pages (here  and ff.)

I'll see if I can write something more specific. I'll ask my alter ego, Bill.

If it'd be helpful the Apptio Education team does have an Intro to Cost Modeling ILT (Instructor led) course that walks through how to create a model, how to move thorugh the different model objects, and some other details.  It's a fun class to teach and might be a great remidner of how it all ties together again. Also if you go to the Learn tab at the top of the Community page you'll see a selection called Onboarding By Product.  Take a look at the right product header and then you'll see the standard how to for creating a new project or rolling out Apptio.  It has some great how to's.

Thanks, this is great. I have found I really benefit from going back and refreshing on the fundamentals.

I also wish that Apptio would bring back the four "backpack" modules they used to use to teach cost model fundamentals in Apptio University. I think they would work really well as self-directed learning modules.

While basic, I think they would be a welcome interim step between the "hamburger analogy" in today's introduction and the complications of real-world cost models. I could see myself going to back to them for a quick refresher whenever I was going to start working on an area of the model I haven't touched for a while.

Thanks for your comment Alan.  I'm very glad to hear you are finding the information Justin referred to as helpful. 

Also, love to hear that you valued the 4 backpack modules.  I am taking that on board as feedback.  We do listen to our students and customers and have over the years made updates and changes to our education formats per student feedback.
