This was my first major project, on Apptio Cost Transparency module implementation, done in collaboration with the Apptio team. The project was successful in creating several very interactive dashboards that had all the required granularity and insights necessary for monthly discussions and decision making.

The goal of this case study was to give greater visibility to the composition of IT spending (concerning infrastructure, services and enterprise applications) through automated management and data reporting, reducing effort for periodic financial analysis.

This project has taught me a lot, I have gathered a wealth of knowledge that I will always carry with me. The main lessons I learned working in an Apptio Module Implementation Project can be summarized in:

• Configure model and complicated transform steps in Apptio
• Verbalize and document everything and always!
• Consistent communication between the TBM Team and the Customer is fundamental for success
• Automate as much data as possible saves a large amount of time in the short and long termin
• Starting from the data you have, even if not complete, everything can be integrated and improved.
