CPU TIME field from ps -fu

    I do understand that this is the runtime of a process however I see a user running several java procs and some are showing 0:00 and others are showing over 300:00.

    what does this mean - is the process stuck in a loop or is it because it has been running for that amount of time - the CPU utilization field "C" is not showing a high number of cycles ie 7.
