    HI

Could you please provide the SQL query off the content store that will get size of folders, reports and e.t.c. ?
Or advise a tool or method for estimating content store size.

    Cognos 11.1.6.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ilyas

Have you looked into CMTools? It is provided with the Windows installs of CA but can point to any CA.

If I recall correctly you can list out folders and their sizes.

I can look further into it and send a couple pics if you wish.

Are the CMTools still supported?  I know there were other tools Cognos had made available that IBM stopped supporting not long after acquiring Cognos.

Ilyas, in lieu of IBM providing these kinds of tools they're rather leaving that to 3rd party vendors.  You might want to have a look at MotioPi - they're the "official" tool supplier endorsed by IBM.  They have a free version of MotioPi that can do a lot of that kind of reporting on the content store.

You can Drill Down on folders to get more detailed information.

I have IBMCognosBI_CMSize_64, but this utility is not suitable for cognos 11.1.6.
Where did you get CMTools from?

CMtools is located in the ..\bin64\utilities\cm\CMTools directory.

    Hi Ilyas,

There are also some SQL scripts available in <cognos installation folder>/configuration/schemas/content. When you navigate into respective database folder you will find scripts to get content store size details. For ex, in sqlserver folder, you will find CSsize_profiling_mssqlserver.sql.

What exactly are you looking for? If you want the total size of the content store database, you can run a custom sql query. When you say size of reports, you mean the report definitions? I have never seen a large report definition. The actual reports (output) is not stored in the content store.
