    Hello,

    On the CP4I dashboard we can see the utilized license in terms of vCPU. Can someone help me understand how this calculation is done? Suppose I take ACE as an example. Suppose the allotted cores to ACE worker node is X and total core consumption by all pods are Y. So the license consumed is based on X or Y? As per given ratio of 1:3, in production, should it be 3X or 3Y vCPU license consumed? Kindly help me understand. Thanks

    Hello Nitish,

    You are correct 3 VPC of CP4I gives 1 core of ACE in production. Here total VPC consume depends on Intel Hyper-Threading (SMT=2) is enabled on the deployed system.

    With below configuration, you will need 3/2 VPC for 1 core of ACE.

    Configuration best practice

    ·        The configuration assumes that Intel Hyper-Threading (SMT=2) is enabled on the deployed system, with a direct correlation where 1 physical core equates to 2 vCPUs, denoted as 1 VPC.

    ·        It's important to note that the license calculation is contingent upon Intel Hyper-Threading being enabled, and any deviation from this setting will result in a change in license requirements.

    ·        To maintain optimal performance and resource utilization, the documentation strongly advises against exceeding a 2:1 ratio between vCPUs via virtualization software and physical cores.
