  • 1.  Confidence intervals and Finite Population Correction

Is there a way to apply Finite Population Correction (FPC) to the Confidence Intervals?  FPC is used as a correction factor to the Standard Error when the sample starts to become a 'fair' proportion of the finite population, for example if 70% of population responds to a survey. The effect is a narrowing of the confidence interval. I am familiar with the formula for the correction factor but find nowhere in SPSS where to choose it as an option.

The only place in Statistics that I know of that provides control over the FPC is in the Complex Samples Prepare for Analysis Wizard.  See this page for details.  You could use that with a simple random sample.
