  • 1.  Conditional lookup in Advanced Search?

    Posted Mon February 22, 2021 05:37 PM
    MAM 7.6.1.2:

I have two custom fields in ASSET:
    - ZONE (1, 2, 3, 4)
    - SUBZONE (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-1, ...)

In the Asset Advanced Search window, I want the SUBZONE field to have a conditional lookup:
     - If ZONE = 1 , then lookup = 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, ...

Is it possible to do this?

    Thanks.

Unfortunately this isn't possible without some third party solutions on the advanced search. On the advanced search you don't have a concept of a record so you can't retrieve the value from another field. You can do filters utilizing certain variables (such as :user) but nothing that depends on other attributes in the advanced search.

Like Steven Shull said, you can't do exactly what you're asking. However, you can include Zone as a column in a custom lookup, if your data allows. Then you can at least filter by Zone in the lookup, which is nearly just as good as what you were originally looking for.
