Hi Lee,
Those advanced logging settings are administrator functions.
When we send an email to a mail server that can't deliver the message the email server sends us back a failure and Cognos will post it. Depending on how the email server is configured the email address doesn't have to go to a valid endpoint. In this case neither the email server or Cognos would know anything is wrong.
For example, if I disable Relay on my mail server any bad address with get sent back to Cognos and we will see a message like this.
CNC-SDS-0379 Unable to send a message to an email address. Please check the value:
trahf@fhagd.comIf I enable Relay no errors will be seen by the email server so it will look to us that the email was sent successfully.

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for your reply.
The version is IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0.11. I've had a look in 'my schedule's and subscriptions' and every attempt shows as as success despite the emails not going out. Is that the history you are referring to?
Also I don't seem to have a 'manage' button is that something reserved for system administrators?

Hi Lee,
What version are you using?
When you look at the history are their any messages? Like "Failed to deliver...."
You can turn on SDS (Schedule and Delivery Service) logging to get more details. (Manage -> Configuration -> Diagnostic Logging)

Subject: Cognos report not emailing
Hello,
I have a report created in cognos analytics that appears to be running when scheduled, but the email version of the report is not being sent.
The report runs, saves the output as set up to, but no email comes through. I have tried setting it to email user groups in cognos, and manually entering email addresses for it to go to with the same issue.
Any advice on how to troubleshoot this appreciated.
Thanks,
