Hello everyone. 

I hope this is a right forum to ask this question. 

In case of government entities who would like to share their interactive new cognos dashboard functionality already created to their public users through their website.

For example a covid dashboard or any government public info

Which type of Cognos licensing is right way to approach this problem? 

In case of a cognos distributed environment if it is PVU 

Can we use 

1) Anonmymous access

OR

2) Register the public users and give them a login access to those dashboards? 

Which would be the correct way to tackle this problem? 

any other suggestions would be appreciated

To stay in compliance with IBM licensing, we approached this scenario using PVU licensing with Anonymous access so that the public would not have to authenticate to see the dashboards.

So when does the information distribution license come into play? 

or is it just for named user licences only?

We have a separate server for our public reporting and only agencies that have public facing dashboards use the server.  I think that server is PVU licensed.  We use Anonymous sign for it.
