yep: it seems to be a bug. We have already created a ticket @IBM-Support as we see the whole interactive mode to be affected when you use layout component references. E.g. the interactive toolbar on top of the screen disappears when your list/crosstab is placed in a layout reference and custom controls don't work either. So far I couldn't nail it down to the exact circumstances when the issue appears. We're still investigating.

Yes - LCRs are a Cognos killer feature and critical to any kind of enterprise solution. IBM really don't make shout enough about them. They massively reduce cost in development, maintenance and testing of any solution. 

I have logged numerous LCR bugs over the years.

I have recently had the LCR and interactive toolbar bug I logged rejected. I offered a few alternative behaviours that would be more useful - such as keeping the toolbar but maybe disabling the save, or converting the LCR from Reference to Copy. But IBM has decided to update the documentation instead.

We're ging to have a call with IBM support about the missing toolbar when data containers are placed in LCRs. It's a bug for me because it was working until 12.0.4!

one thing for clarification: is the issue gone when you open the report in edit mode and run it from this perspective? In our system it is!

In 11.2.3 whilst you can name a vizualisation:

And it seems to hint that the name is for use in an LCR you can't actually use it in an LCR. Is this the same in 12?

Hi Mark, that's the same in 12. Actually, I always create a named block around the content, so I never had a use case for overriding a visualization directly.
