In our environment today, we have global views based on Lines of Business. This has worked well but we may want to refine our views in the near future so I was wondering if any folks using CLDY would be able to share some of their view hierarchy.

We leverage tags quite a bit (e.g. App ID) but there are hundreds of App IDs so having a view for each App may be to much to manage. Even if we spliced it by environment.

Maybe you can do that in ApptioBI. Don't know much about native reporting in CLDY. Maybe some heavyweights can help here @Jenny Franklin @Tony Wong @Debbie Hagen​​​​​

Its going to depend on what is available in your data and if you can overlay logic to existing tagging or if you have to introduce additional processing. 

You mentioned the most common ones LOB, and App ID. From there which ecosystems those applications map to, what CC hierarchy those LOBs roll up to. Which environments for the apps (development, testing, production), and comparing spend across cloud vendors if applicable. 

Once you have stable views there explore the Insights and Optimize sections in Cloudability. With a focus on Rightsizing, Savings Plans, and Anomaly Detection. 

I would also recommend looking through the Apptio Value Explorer for reporting inspiration, taking the Cloudability training, and then ultimately the FinOps certification.
