ClassCastException error while connecting to an Oracle database using a System Data service

  • 1.  ClassCastException error while connecting to an Oracle database using a System Data service

    Posted Tue July 18, 2023 12:01 PM

    Hi All,

We have an Oracle database, and a driver and a datasource configured properly in BAW to that database at the customer.

When we execute an SQL command in BAW using SQL Execute Statement System Data toolkit's service, we get this error:

    Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.ws.naming.jndicos.CNContextImpl incompatible with javax.sql.DataSource
        at teamworks.sql.SQLExecutor.getConnection(SQLExecutor.java:79)
        at teamworks.sql.SQLExecutor.execute(SQLExecutor.java:100)
        ...

Unfortunately no match in google for this error message :( .

We use the same configuration at our development environment and have no problems.

BAW 22, Target Environment is Traditional or Container (TC).

Why do we get this error and how to solve it?

    Any help appreciated,
    Thx
