I think there are codes imbedded in the executable that represent the compiler used. Offhand I don't know what those are, but if you have IBM File Manager you can use the "Load Module Information" function and it will display it. For example, "Enterpr.COBOL for z/OS V6R4" is what shows for the module I just looked at. The function is 3.10.1 of File Manager.
