Chart options in PDF reports

  • 1.  Chart options in PDF reports

    Hello!

We have a group of reports that are scheduled to go out as PDF once a week. We're making some changes to the visuals in these reports, and being limited by having to use PDF as the format, I am wondering if anyone has any experience in data heavy reports strictly generated for PDF.  We're looking to add more data to some charts, and do some more custom colors. I will add an example for a cumulative graph that we currently have, and what we're trying to achieve.

    This is the current graph:
The gray area is a cumulative value for the last year, the colored lines are the same for the three years before that, and the dotted line is a target line.

This is what we want to achieve:

The cumulative value, with the actual value stacked in a darker color on top, and two target lines, preferably with no connected line between them, but I can't seem to find that this is possible.

It obviously doesn't have to look exactly like this, but we want the color split on year, the two different measures on the stacked bar, the 'floating' target line over each month, and another target line.

We are currently using charts for all the visuals in the report. What I am asking for help with is:

How can I make the colors different for each year considering its a dynamic time filter, so I can't use conditional coloring on a hard coded year. I also can't use series as I have multiple values.

Is it possible to make numeric baselines that are disconnected like shown in the picture?

    Thank you!
