Sorry for the confusion, but both those "case" things are two different things. The older "caseId" was used to create case like solutions using just the BAW process capabilities. It basically associated a content folder with the process instance to give you a place to store documents. While still a useful process capability, we have been trying to rename those from "case" to "process instance folder" to more clearly describe what it is for.
The Case Comments UI view is part of the BAW Case feature and for "caseID" it expects a real BAW case folder ID created using the BAW Case APIs as those have lots more things associated with them.

Subject: Case Comments Error - cannot find Case ID
Hello Community,
I am using IBM BAW to create a workflow, I am trying to add a "Case Comments" view, but I keep getting an error message saying that the Case Id is not valide.
however, on the same form, I am using the same variable "caseId" (tw.system.process.instanceId) with a case folder view and it's working fine.
any ideas please what could be the cause of this error?
I would appreciate your help.
Regards,
