    Tried to create a database, called ‘fourth’, but received the following error message:

    Could not add XTS entry for database fourth on pacific.hpl.umces.edu with port 3203

    Hi,

    Check in your hostfile for an entry called SAGXTSDShost and see what IP address it has been given. If the entry is missing add:

    127.0.0.1 SAGXTSDShost

    If the IP address is different from above, try changing it to 127.0.0.1

    This was helpful - thanks!
    I found that I also had to stop / start the Software AG services.
    Also, my hosts entry (c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file - Win 2000) had the ip address incorrect - it was 1.1.1.1 (I think) not 127.0.0.1.
    When I changed it, and restarted the services it worked fine.
