    Hello Everyone,

    I am Fiona from Enquiry Service -HK. Our team uses InfoSphere Data Replication, version 11.4.0.

     

    We are currently encountering some issues and need your guidance.

     

    We have reviewed the relevant documentation but it does not mention whether our CDC version can use views or materialized views to extract source data to the ODS layer.

     

    This email is to inquire about the official response regarding whether CDC can use views or materialized views.

     

    Or, besides reading logs, are there other solutions to extract source data to the ODS layer?

    Hi

    You can open an IBM support case for an official response.

    The concept of CDC is to process the logs generate by the tables and views doesn't generate any logs.

    Views are created from the underlying tables.

    1. Replicate the same tables that the views use from source to ODS layer.
    2. Create the same views in the ODS layers.

    You will get the same results, any changes in the underlying tables will cause changes in the views.
