  • 1.  Calling REST from P8 workflow

    Hi

    I have BAW 22, with several solutions that has the workflow (Activities) created and running in "Filenet P8 Process".

    The "Filenet P8 Process" workflow can call Web Services without issues, but I was wondering if it was ever updated to support REST.
    Can a REST service be called when you use a "Filenet P8 Process" Workflow on a solution?

    If possible, any hints, tips, URL, pointers are welcome.

    Hi Martin,

    there are no plans to enhance the workflow capabilities provided by the FileNet Content Platform Engine.

    From a strategic point of view, we recommend to use the BPMN workflow engine in BAW to enhance your existing Case solution with additional Case activities implemented by BPMN processes. The BPMN workflows give you rich capabilities for working with REST APIs.

    Alternatively, you could of course implement a custom component for the CPE component manager which encapsulates your REST calls.

    Thanks for the feedback Michael. I will have to learn more about BPMN workflow engine in BAW. I'm open to get more project samples where I can get more ideas and code samples.
