We have around 300 users and going with multi server install of CA 11.1.1 (Two gateways, two App servers, DB). Which load balancer is good (Internal to Cognos / IIS Load Balancer / external (hardware))

I am new to administration. Which one is suggested and why?

With 300 named users your concurrency likely will not be that high.  You might try with a single gateway and let Cognos manage the load balance internally.
