  • 1.  Bursting on a Report Reference

    Hello All, 

    I have 2 Reports (Report 1 and Report 2), which have the individual busting set on them to save the outputs to file system, (Report outputs are example Manager 1, Manager 2 etc..)

    I want to combine these 2 reports into one using Report References. How Can i burst this report reference so that i can create a book like outputs like below 

    Book of Manager 1

    Report 1 - Manager 1
    Report 2 - Manager 1

    Book of Manager 2

    Report 1 - Manager 2
    Report 2 - Manager 2

    Book of Manager 3

    Report 1 - Manager 3
    Report 2 - Manager 3

    any ideas other than reference reports are also welcome.

    IBM PA does not have any tools out of the box that will allow this. You would need to write some code in RestAPI.

    i am a big fan of Quebit's ReportWORQ tool as it does what you require and more.

    Is there anything preventing you from just combing Report 1 and Report 2 into a single report?  Seems that would be simple, yet effective way to achieve your requirement, unless I am missing something.

    Hello Mark, the reports are individually consumed by different user groups, and they are heavy in logic. combining them in my case is a bad idea with respect to usage, performance and maintenance.

    Report references are great, but bursting is one of their limitations. Whilst the overall report can be burst, there is no way of filtering the report references contained within it. The result is that the burst report just contains the whole of every report reference.

    Which is a shame as this is such an obvious use for report references.
