    Hi,

We installed the BIM viewer (Maximo 7.6.1.0) and loaded our models and it worked great - then got pulled away for a few months. Now when we came back, the 3d tab no longer shows our models, but the message:

There is no model available for the asset or location you are viewing.

Since there is nothing in the systemout.log, I was hoping someone could point me to a place for troubleshooting, or if this is some common error after a period of non-use maybe some points.
    thanks
    Jeff

    Hello,
There are a couple items to check if you get this message.
    1. The asset/location you have selected in Maximo does not contain a modelid or a modelid which matches to the model file stored in the cloud.
    2. The SSL certificate on the Maximo server expired or the SSL configuration settings on the Maximo server have changed.  Forge only supports TSLv1.2 protocol, as such the Maximo server needs to be configured to support this protocol.  See this article - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/738977
    3. We have made some recent updates to the Maximo Autodesk Forge plugin.  The latest can be downloaded at  - https://community.ibm.com/community/user/iot/viewdocument/maxmo-forge-viewer-plugin-version?CommunityKey=7f1637b5-e23d-4694-a843-ab9c5b205d49&tab=librarydocuments
    4. The latest source can be downloaded from github at - https://github.com/jholcomb-ibm/IBMMaximoForgeViewerPluginV2
Feel free to PM me or email if you have additional questions on Maximo BIM capabilities.  tknowles@us.ibm.com

    Hi Thomas,

    thank you for your support.

I'm facing the same message ("There is no model available for the asset or location you are viewing.") when opening the 3D View tab in Maximo after linking a Model file (.rvt file previously uploaded) to an existing Maximo Location using Manage BIM Viewer application.

The main difference is that I'm not using COBie file since i just need to use the viewer without creating new assets or locations, so I just want to upload .rvt file and link it to an existing location.

Maximo installation in built on a Linux system: does it need something different during the BIM installation?

Could you suggest me what to do to solving the problem?

    Thank you in advance,

    Giuseppe

    Hello,

Can you confirm if you open the Manage BIM Viewer application, open the BIM Model record and click on the 3D View tab.  Does your model file open?

    Hi @Thomas Knowles,

Currently we have a Maximo Setup which using SSO using SAML without an active LDAP connection. From the forge plugin documentation I can see that it uses REST and MIF which supposedly don't work in SAML without LDAP.

Am I correct in saying that we cannot use the Forge Viewer Plugin with our current Maximo Configuration and is there any alternative to use this with the above setup that we have?

    Hello Abhinav,

You can use SSO and SAML in Maximo w/o impact to he Maximo Forge Plugin.  It should work without issue.  Which part of the plugin documentation leads you to believe otherwise and I'll have it corrected.   The plugin connects to Autodesk using key/secret in OAuth API.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Thomas Knowles

Thank you so much for your reply. I was going through the Maximo Autodesk Forge Viewer Plug-in Install Guide and noticed the below text

Now our Maximo environment is using SSO using SAML without an LDAP connection, according to IBM this setup has below limitations
Now since the forge viewer plugin requires REST and MIF as a prerequisite and the current SAML SSO setup which we have (without LDAP)  I am under the impression that the plugin might not work
Again correct me if I am wrong in my understanding
