AW 764 - "Checking Application Updates...."

    Hi All,
In Anywhere 7.6.4. IBM Maximo Technician App - after changing the URL, the progress download percentage shown, and then it got blank white screen and display: "Checking for application updates..." This takes forever.

I tried this in both Android and iOS devices. I also tried to run build clean and build all. (no errors).
I notice the apps were uploaded to OSLCMAXAPPDATA correctly.

Is there anyway to debug and fix this?  I enable logger in Maximo for both OSLC and Integration - not shown there.

    Thanks!

Please plug device into your computer with USB cable and (for iOS use Safari WebInspector or Android use Chrome Inspect).  You can then see the console on the device and determine what is happening. Have you made any changes to app.xml or is this first time download from your server?

    Hello Dianne,

I don't if it can help for you,  but I have the same problem when the device is configured with languages different than english.  So my current workaround is install with SO in english while I wait for a solution.

Another important thing is to check the Android version, it needs to be 7.1 or higher

So a question for both you Dianne and you Claudio.  You say "it takes forever".  I assumed at the time I wrote that you meant it never came back and the app essentially hung.  So does the app ever come back to you or does it indeed hang?  In either case using Chrome Inspect you should have visibility into the web console view and see any error messages. Have you tried this and have you made any progress? Diane, have you opened a support ticket with IBM?

    Hello Bradley,

Yes, I have a ticket opened for that.  So,  As far as I know, this happens with some languages such as Spanish (my Case) or French.

I don't know if that happens to me is related  with the Dianne's problem, but it seems that the flavors are giving some problem for now.

    @Claudio, @Bradley,
The issue is resolved - I ran debugger in Mac and connect to iPad - If I remove the last "/", the issue is fixed. weird!
In the opening window for "IBM Maximo Technician" app - https://xxxxx.xxx.com:9443/maximo
It took a while (~5mins) until the login page is displayed.

    Thanks!

    Dianne,

OK Cool.  Interesting the trailing slash was an issue with iOS in previous version as well when inputting the connection URL.  Please open ticket so our folks in Support can get a "formal" view on this and they will likely update a Support doc on this issue.

It is also interesting that it took that long for the page to load.  Please collect logs and submit a support ticket for that as a separate issue.  One this I do note is that you are using port 9443 instead of 443. Do you not have an a WebServer in front of the application server JVM?  Ideally you should have this set up.

Any update or publicly available APAR number on the blank screen issue when Android device base language is French or Spanish?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

The solution exist, so you need to request the code, it is  a www. zip with files  to replace on www directory,  in my case works fine.
