    Has anyone setup an automatic refresh of a start center to display on a status display monitors in multiple locations of a facility.

    I'd question using start centers for this use case. I'd consider an alternative (such as Power BI). But if you're going to do it, use a browser extension over modifying the application. There's overhead associated with refreshing the start center and you wouldn't want this to occur for all users. 

    Try to pick a reasonable time to refresh. I've seen people do it every 5 seconds which makes viewing the dashboard difficult. I'd personally look at 1 minute as the most frequent. If you need anything more real-time then a start center isn't the right approach.
