  • 1.  Attn IBM: HADR Tools missing

    Posted 05/12/20 10:05 AM
    Hi IBM,

some time ago via developerworks there were nice tools available to calculate the bandwidth and logspace needed for an HADR setup.
There was a technote https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/tech-tip-db2-hadr-simulator pointing to the various resources on developerworks.
Now all the links are pointing just to this community forum.

Even when I search inside this new forum, I just get stuck and end on the home page Home - IBM Community and the HADR Portal also points into void: IBM Hybrid Data Management Community - Hybrid Data Management

Where can we find the Db2 Log Analyzer and the HADR Calculator now?

    Kind regards

    Hello Roland,

    nice to know;-)

As of Db2 v11.5, the "HADR Toolkit" suite of tools including db2logscan (Db2 Log Scanner), simhadr (HADR Simulator), and hadrCalculator (HADR Calculator) are available as part of your Db2 installation sqllib/bin (db2logscan, simhadr) and sqllib/bin/samples (hadrCalculator.pl), and do not need to be downloaded separately.

    Kind regards,
    Joachim

Thanks for the hint to github. In the meantime I found it in my install myself.
It is just so sad, that with the sunset of DeveloperWorks all IBM internal pointers just point into void and it seems, no one cares.

If we as IBM Champions don't complain and start such discussions like this, there will be no web imprint, no google hits later on and all the people, who would like to learn something about Db2, will find nothing to learn from and probably will then turn away to other vendors solutions.

    +100.

IBM broken links is something really terrible for the company.  I learned the hard way,

"don't bookmark ibm pages,  they don't work anymore 3 months later"
    :-(
