We had a requirement to display the attachment icon on the list tab. The users wanted to know what the attachments were on a specific record. The option for them would be to first open the record, then click on the attachment icon and select "View Attachments" option. They wanted the easier way out by clicking the icon on the list tab itself which would open the list of attachments directly (i.e. the View Attachments option).
We copied the dialog id "drviewattachments" from the LIBRARY.XML to the XML of the application. This dialog id in the XML was of course renamed. We also added a relationship of DOCLINKS to the dialog id. The mxevent on the tablecol id for the attachment icon on the list tab was referenced to the above custom dialog id. We imported this XML and now when the user retrieved the list of records on the list tab and clicked on the attachment icon, it displayed the list of attachments.
Any views and feedback on this would really be appreciated.
We also wanted to color code the attachment icon on the list tab if there are any attachments available on the record, but I believe Sig Options do not work on list tab fields. Any leads on this would also be appreciated.
