    SDD is a multipath device driver developed for IBM ESS or IBM DS8000 systems. This drive will only work with these devices. You should deinstall SDD if you don't have these systems.

    Despite the fact that this is not supported, I think multipathing with MPIO could work. Just attach the EVA with 2 adapters and try lspath to view the number of paths to each hdisk. These 2 adapter should not have connections to any other storage systems.

    A colleague told me, he saw a running configuration, but with AIX 5.3 and an HP EVA 8000. Another thing is that the queuedepth for the disks is only 1, which brings not the best performance.

    Well the problem is really with support. As in 'this doesn't work who do I call?'.

    And unless you are using eva 4,6,8000 behind a san volume controller it is HP.

    But if I were to use a eva disk system with a pSeries server I'd use the HP
    plugins to AIX'es MPIO. (this is the strategic HP way of doing multipath on AIX)
    (AIX5.2 ML4)

    I wouldn't use campex adapters, unless I was sure they could handle EEH.

    Exactly. You need to call both IBM and HP until one of them finds out that they don't support the configuration. Hopefully the another support will find solution.
